1. What are linear shafts used for?

Linear shafts are the main guide rod for all sliding moving parts. You can find them on 3D printers, packaging machines, automated equipment, conveyor systems and all kinds of machinery that needs smooth back-and-forth movement. They keep bearings sliding straight and stable every time.

2. What material are your linear shafts made of?

Our standard linear shafts are made of high quality hardened carbon steel, surface hardened and precision ground. They are hard, wear-resistant and not easy to bend. We also have stainless steel versions available for wet, washdown or outdoor working conditions.

3. Do linear shafts need to be hardened?

Yes, hardening is super important. Only hardened shafts can work with linear bearings properly. Soft, untreated rods will get grooves worn quickly, cause jittery movement and damage the bearings in a short time. All our shafts are well hardened to standard hardness for long service life.

4. Are your shafts straight enough for precision machines?

Definitely. We control good straightness tolerance on every shaft. No bending, no distortion. Even for precision equipment and 3D printers, the movement stays smooth without shaking or position errors.

5. Can linear shafts be used in wet or dusty environments?

Standard steel shafts are good for dry and indoor use only. If your working place is wet, needs water cleaning or full of dust and moisture, we suggest choosing stainless steel shafts to avoid rust and surface damage.

6. What sizes do you have in stock?

We have all the most common outer diameters in stock, from small miniature sizes to large thick heavy-duty shafts. Different lengths can be cut to your required size directly. Fast delivery for all standard sizes.

7. Do your shafts work with all standard linear bearings?

Yes, all our linear shafts are made to standard industrial dimensions. Perfect fit for all regular linear ball bearings, sliding bearings and bushing parts. No fitting issues, easy installation.

8. How long can a linear shaft last in use?

If you choose the right material for your environment and keep normal lubrication, our linear shafts last for years with almost no wear. Good hardness and smooth surface finish make sure the whole machine runs stable with less maintenance.
